The octopus vulgaris, commonly known as the common octopus, is one of the most widely distributed and well-researched species of octopus. Its habitat spans from the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean, encompassing the coasts from England to Senegal. Octopuses found in the Atlantic waters off the Spanish and Moroccan coastlines are particularly prized. Sputnik carefully selects its products for its valued customers, which is why we have chosen an octopus from this region for you.
In the hospitality industry, the Moroccan octopus is affectionately referred to as the "octopus flower." This is because some manufacturers have created frozen octopuses in the shape of flowers.
Moroccan octopus is already prepared in a peeled form, which significantly simplifies the cooking process. The individual shock freezing technique makes the octopus meat more tender and easier to cook, resulting in an ideal texture. After thawing, you only need to remove the beak and rinse the octopus thoroughly under running water. You can then start cooking or, if desired, add additional frying.
